Hello,

I have Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard and im having some problem with RAM Configuration...

RAM; Patriot Viper 3 / 2x4GB / PC3-15000 / 1866MHz

How can i set up my ram with 1866MHz frequency in BIOS ?

Solution
Your ram has Intel XMP, which means all you have to do is go into the BIOS, locate the memory tab, and activate and/or enable the Intel XMP profile for this RAM. It sets everything from latencies to voltage. If you have problems, let me kow. :)

i have to do this?

.......

Clear the CMOS. (Section 1.2.7 of manual)
Put two Kingston modules in either the blue or black slots.
Restart the PC and enter the BIOS setup.
Load optimized defaults from BIOS Exit menu (Section 3.9)
Enter any custom settings you have, if any.

Change Ai Overclock Tuner from [Auto] to [Manual] (Section 3.4.1)

The Kingston memory requires 1.65v DRAM voltage, not 1.5v. (Section 3.4.16)
Change DRAM Voltage from [Auto] to [1.65v].

Change Memory Frequency from [Auto] to [DDR3-1600MHz] (Section 3.4.5)

Adjust first four settings in DRAM Timing Control (Section 3.4.11)
Starting with CAS Latency, set to 9-9-9-27

Save and Exit BIOS.
See how that runs and then add the other two RAM modules.

.......

No. That is how you would manually overclock RAM. Before I go on, have you gotten into BIOS and looked for the memory section yet? Just disregard those instruction that you posted. That's the wrong info. Let me know when you've gone into BIOS and tried setting the XMP.
