Hi, I have a huawei B970b router with sim card for internet. i would like to connect it to my WRT54GL so I can share wireless internet connection from WRT54GL to other devices. how do i do this? also can i possibly use its hotspot function? please help me. ive been to many sites but cant seem to get it right. can you provide step by step configuration? thank you so much.

Ok what you will want to do is configure your WRT54GL as an access point (meaning that the huawei router provides all dhcp addressing and logic, and the wrt is just a wireless extension of that router.
Since you have a GL router I am assuming you have a firmware like Tomato or DD-WRT on it, which one do you have so I can give you proper instructions.

Assuming your huawei router is configured to assign dhcp addresses (a dhcp server) then you should be good to go.
Ohh you will plug the ethernet cable into the LAN port on the wrt54gl router and NOT the WAN port.

What kind of range does the router need to have?
I would go with a HP series buffalo router with removable antenna(s) and then upgrade them with higher gain ones if you dont need to go more then 100ft or 4-5 walls.
If you need more then that and you are only using one router then you should go for a commercial grade router, might look into ubiqutu or engenius.
As far as hotspot sites I do not know of any as I have never researched any of it.
