A few months back i posted a que here asking wat to do abt my gpu overheating... Eventually i figured out that my graphics chip had malfunctioned.. Though the problem wasn't as severe at that time, it has become a lott worse over the past couple of months... So much so that even a simple task of opening a browser n loading any webpage shoots up my temperature to a 100 degrees.. So i was thinking about replacing the entire motherboard.. Since i lack any knowledge about motherboards, my question is, will it solve my problem to an absolute certainty?
Also will there be any data loss?

Your motherboard has nothing to do with your GPU unless it is built in graphics AKA onboard. You just need to replace your video card or get a video card. Will fix your problem %100. You will not lose any data. If you need any help selecting one if you could give me the model or your pc, or better yet your motherboard and power supply model.
