R9 290x vs Nvidia gtx 780?

Hey
I was going through these cards and i dont know which one i should buy. Should i go for r9 290x or gtx 780. MS announced DX12 will r9 290x and gtx 780 get dx12 support and which is better overall. Im planning to do gaming at ultra settings @1080p and also video and 3d rendering

Firstly, that R9 290x is out of stock.
I'd get the GTX 780. Does the R9 have higher performance? Yes. At 1080p will it matter? Not really.
The GTX is cheaper (and actually in stock), and besides, it comes with a decent 2yr labour, 3 yr parts warranty.

Also that 290x has a Reference cooler. Unless you want a space heater, go with the 780

do i really need a 750 watt PSU? i have a corsair cx600w psu also.

Neither of those GPUs require a 750W PSU. You will be fine with that PSU as long as you don't crossfire your setup.

Are you still going with the same GPU, the MSI GTX 780?
