Setting up a PC from scratch with only an HDMI monitor (TV)?

I just bought all the different parts for my gaming system and they should be delivered within 3-4 days. My only display device available is my HDMI ready led TV. I know that only my graphics card has an HDMI port while the mobo has a VGA port.
What I was wondering, when I first power on my PC after assembly, would I get a display through the HDMI port or would I need a VGA monitor since my graphics card's drivers haven't been installed yet?

You'll be mounting the graphic card on the mobo. So you just have to connect the TV to the HDMI port on the graphic card via the HDMI cable.
  3. So the display gets routed through the external gfx card before installing it's drivers? OK thanks a lot guys
