I have lots of verses on a CD made on my old laptop but Office Starter 2010 suddenly won't let me access them on my new laptop, I'm on a pension and don't want to buy a full system so can anyone tell me how I can access these verses please?

Solution
OK.
Copy the files, via Windows Explorer, from the CD to your hard drive.
Now make another copy in another folder, just in case.

Your current Office installation - is that a 30 day trial? If so...it may be up.

Solution:
1. Buy Office.

2. Word Viewer. Free, direct from Microsoft. This will allow you to read, but not edit

3. A free, mostly compatible Office suite. LibreOffice or OpenOffice.

I made the files using Word on a laptop jointly owned by my ex-husband and I and he magnanimously agreed to put some of them on a disc for me, I just put the disc in my Samsung laptop and when I try to open any of the files the Microsoft box comes up asking if 1) I have bought it and not activated it, 2) do I want to buy it or 3) give me a free trial.
I had the Office starter 2010 put on in the shop when I bought the laptop as I only wanted to do letters and verses for my cards and the sales assistant said that it would be fine for that .I can access them fine but I cannot access the ones on the CD.
As you'll gather I'm not very good with technology so any help for idiots appreciated!
