So I've been thinking of buying a secondary monitor (actually a new primary use the old one as a secondary). Before I get into the answers, I'd like to know a few things.

1. My current display (Fujitsu SL23T-1 LED 1080p 60Hz really happy with it) is running at 60Hz If I were to buy a new display with say 120Hz or 144Hz would this be a problem? (obviously you could see the difference in refresh rates) And If I wanted to use both screens for gaming would VSync be a problem since one is running at 60Hz and other at double higher?

2. Could I use the CPU's integrated graphics to run one monitor and my gpu to run the other? Or do I have to route them both to my GPU (GTX 760). And If I were to do this would the different refresh rates be a problem, when the video is coming from a single source?

Any help regarding this issue is much appreciated.

1. What Is Your Country Of Origin? Finland

2. What do you plan to do with this monitor? (ex. Games, Movie Watching, Photo Editing, etc.)
Gaming mostly, nothing serious like Photo editing, occasional Movies

3. What resolution and screen size do you want? 1920 x 1080 or 1200

4. What refresh rate do you want? (ex. 60 hz , 70 hz.) 60Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz (I doubt I can get a high refresh rate with my current budget)

5. How much are you looking to spend? About 200€ max so that's about 170£ I can go a bit higher if needed

6. Brands Preferred (ex. Samsung, Acer, Asus, AOC, HP, Viewsonic, etc. ) Nothing

7. Brands Not Preferred (state reason why) Nothing

8. Are You Buying More Than One Monitor? No

9. How Many Displays Can Your GPU Support Maximum? And what GPU and driver version are you using if applicable? I think my GPU (GTX 760) can support up to three displayes)

10. What Port Do You Want To Connect To (ex. DVI-D, HDMI, etc). DVI-D or HDMI, since my old display supports both.

11. Is This Monitor A Primary Display Or A Secondary Display? A new Primary

12. Is This A Secondary Display For A Laptop? No its for my current PC

Thank you very much.

There is no practical use for gaming on 2 screen. I would say three screen make sense. The 60 frames cap won't be a big deal anyways considering 760 Will struggle to output more than 60 anyways. You would sli 760 or 780 to get 120 frames in most demanding titles. I have used both methods: I usually plug my second non gaming screen to on board graphics and the screen I am going to game on, I use dedicated graphics. This removes the slight performance hit will gaming.

So there's no trouble using two different video outputs. Performance isn't an issue since the secondary screen would be used to light use, and the primary for heavier use.
