New build for strictly gamming. I don't want to shell out too much extra $ for little extra performance. My question is this: will i5-4670 along with a single gtx 780 ti perform about the same as with i7-4770K? Either version I'm going with a micro mobo, but a good one.

More about : 4670 performance 4770 single gtx 780

The difference between i5 and i7 in single player gaming is 0~5% but in BF4 multiplayer i7 is slightly faster!
You'll be fine with i5!

I'm gaming both single and multi-player on a lower if the high end resolutions i.e. 1080.

You should be fine with i5 because most work will do graphics card!

I am/was an AMD fan myself, never thought I would get an Intel i5-4670k... I bought the fx-8350 and that chip didn't even catch up with intel i3, I sold the fx and bought intel i5 4670k...no comparison mate, I was so angry and pissed off that I changed my plans of getting an AMD GPU as well... I have visions of love and hate for AMD...now look at this www.hardwarepal.com/best-cpu-gaming-9-processors-8-game...
people here know me as dark.resurrection, I was an AMD fanboy...perhaps people here can tell you what a fanboy of AMD I was

That's what I was hoping to hear from somebody, a real story of experience. I'd rather pay extra for more speed and less complications. My A10-5800K is not very fast even when oc'd (limited) and mobo to match it. Iv'e been asking about many equipment options here at Tom's about my possible upgrades. Thanks for the information everyone, it will make deciding much easier.

in the future fx 8350> i5 4670k, wanna bet!? just look at these links
* where is the i5 in UBISOFT's system requirements!? http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=4546&ga... Ubisoft has confrimed that this game is heavily threaded, and has promised i5 owners can hit high sttings!! NO ULTRA SETTINGS
* When Capcom says its new engine takes full advantage of i7, which is good news for fx owners, Capcom really means it http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/132533/sponsored_...
* Epic says the more cores the better http://www.shacknews.com/article/70348/epic-talks-unrea...!!!
Intel i5 is already on the way out, it is i7 or fx 83-- time!! There is no sense to buy an i5 anymore, either go with an i7 or FX 8350, perhaps we should get used to seeing these benchmarks: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Crysis-3-PC-235317/Tests/... (crysis 3- fx 8350 better than i7 3770k and just below i7-3950x)

if you wanna buy a CPU go with fx 8320- 8350
in old or single threaded games yeah i5 4670k>fx 8350 currently and for moderately threaded games i5 4670=fx 8350, and in the near future fx 8350> i5 4670k, let's review these benchmarks here

http://www.hardwarepal.com/batman-arkham-origins-benchm... (batman Arkham Origins fx 8350= i7 4770k after AMD's catalyst release)
http://www.hardwarepal.com/battlefield-4-benchmark-mp-c... ( battlefield 4 ultra HD FX 8350 equal to i7-4770k)
http://www.hardwarepal.com/battlefield-4-benchmark-mp-c... ( battlefield4 full HD the same scenario)
http://www.techspot.com/review/645-tomb-raider-performa... (Tomb raider 2013)
in crysis 3, where i5 3570k hits 80% load, fx 8350 is at 60% load and yet sabotages both i5 3570k and i7 3770k, what will happen in Crysis 4!? fx 8350 reaches 80% CPU load, the i5 is easily out of resources, which will lead to laggy performance!! grab the fx 83--
