I'm looking for a power supply that will fit my system, here are my specs.
Geforce GTX 780 Superclocked ACX
NZXT Phantom 410 (White)
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Samsung 840 Evo 120 GB
G-Skill Ripjaws 1600 Mhz (2x8 gb)
I have a CX750M but I am sending it back because people told me it was bad especially since I would be overclocking and I would be going SLI in the future probably.
So, what PSU should I get? My colour scheme is white, red and black just so you don't get a green power supply or something. >_>
for eventual SLI that's recommended rating. You don't have to go platinum if don't want but the rest of your spec's are well above average also
GeForce GTX 780 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750/800 Watt power supply unit as MINIMUM.
For a system using two GeForce GTX 780 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 850 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 65 Amps or greater* and that has at least two 6-pin and two 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.
* Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz 130 Watt TDP processor.
Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!!Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most critical factor.
Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.
