Have you considered right clicking the EXE file that is the game (I have GTA:SA too) and using compatibility mode? It will attempt to run the game as that version of Windows you select. Sometimes it takes a bit of finagling and messing with (i.e. says it works on XP, but really it means XP SP1 not the XP SP3 mode).

Normally for Dual Booting systems (as noted it is HIGH risk and often leads to one or both OSes getting hosed up in the Boot...
Hi

Number of choices
Virtual PC of various companies but graphic card emulated probably S3 Trio or something similar from last century

Or install on second hard disk BUT disconnect existing hard drive otherwise windows will break MBR of first windows 7 disk

Problems could occur if XP does not support the hard disk controller
And few pc's have floppy drive to add ahci sata driver
You may have to read up on integrating drivers into XP and re building a bootable cd
You could try setting hard disk controller to pata compatible mode in bios
Then when XP installed upgrading driver to sata ahci before rebooting going into bios and change bios setting back to ahci sata mode

This all assumes the bios will let you select which hard disk is boot drive

Last alternative
Install XP on 2 nd disk with windows 7 on first hard disk
Then repair windows 7 boot up system using windows 7 DVD or recovery cd made earlier

There are a number of tutorials showing this in detail which you should read up &
Print out before proceeding

I have just outlined the general options

Hi

An emulator virtual PC would be no good for games
So you need to dual boot
It helps if you installed win XP then 7

I have just remembered another problem with dual boot
Win XP cripples the restore points on the win 7 disk
So there is a registry fix to hide the win 7 partition from XP

Google for detailed instructions on installing XP after 7
Also see if your bios supports swapping boot disk easily instead of using windows boot manager menu

Normally for Dual Booting systems (as noted it is HIGH risk and often leads to one or both OSes getting hosed up in the Boot Sector), so often they use third party programs (BCDedit comes to mind) as the 'boot' loader to then choose which OS to use from a menu. I would recommend though the suggest VirtualBox (OS as a Virtual PC) as the better solution, as it works real well even for games most often, if you MUST use XP.
