I am planning on buying the Asus VG248QE, but I know it cannot get 120 or 144 hz with a hdmi cable being used. It will get 60 hz then? Also, will it make a big difference in the picture quality if display port is used versus hdmi?

If using HDMI, the refresh rate will be 60HZ, which sort of defeats the purpose of owning the monitor. As for image quality, there's no difference that the human eye can notice.

I believe a Dual-Link DVI cable comes with your GPU. It did with mine.
