Would the super-high end Maxwell cards be 250W?

Generally the super high end cards NVIDIA has released have topped out at a maximum TDP of 250W up till now(only considering single-gpu cards). This year, the new Maxwell cards that have been released have slashed the TDP's in half; the 750 Ti is ranked higher in performance while consuming slightly more than half the power of the 650 Ti.

So, what I was wondering is, would NVIDIA choose to reduce the TDP of cards like the GTX880 or they'd cram more performance in a 250W chip? 'Cause if they do, it should easily cross the 7500 GFlop mark, and the resulting card would blow even a GTX780Ti card (5040 GFlops)out of the water.

What do others think?

I don't see why they'd slash their max power because they know that 250W is the TDP which high end consumers are happy to have their cards run at and if they can get similar performance per Watt on the other maxwell cards as the 750ti they'll do it.

Think about it, why would NVIDIA not? If the 880 etc get enough performance it could possible convince 780 owners to upgrade and at the end of the day, companies love £££
