processor fan damaged

i have fx 6100 processor.one of the blades of my processor fan broke off while cleaning the fan.do i have to replace the entire heatsink or just the fan?

aslong as the heat sink did not become detached just the fan will do but needs to be the exact same fan as your using now!, are you using a stock fan can find you one now if you like?

The fan should come off and you should be able to replace it by itself.

if ive been looking and seems a bit a nightmare finding a replacement fan for it, maybe get this its better than the stock cooler anyway

is it just a standard type of fan?, like a screw in one, or can you reuse the clips on another fan?, just you could get a normal fan then and just use that make sure you put it in the right way round though!

the fan came out.it was the one that came with the processor.so is it ok if i just change only the fan or will it damage the processor in any way?

also its cheaper quieter and has cooling pipes on the heatsink

but its a sleeve bearing and mine is hydraulic bearing.also it has specs of 12v and 0.4amps.so do i have to get a fan with the same specs or a slightly different one will do?

a slightly different one will do the job, just make sure the size of fan is the same, get a descent one if your going to get one not just any cheap crap lol, personally though id go for the cooler master heatsink and fan myself, oh and make sure the rpm is the same!, just make sure its a good fan that will provide good cooling

i mean it'll cost you between 6-10 pounds for a fan anyway the cooler master heatsink and fan including cpu paste is 16 pounds, may aswell just get that

should be fine aslong as the rpm is the same, and the fan size is, also maybe download this aswell to keep an eye on the temperatures just incase, at idle they should be no more than 50 degrees c.

if the temperature gets to much usually the pc will shut down anyway. But its best to be safe, make sure you install the fan the correct way round aswell, and if i was you i wouldnt just by a cheap fan

just keep a close eye on it tho, if the fan doesnt start spining when you switch the power on just unplug the lead from the back of your pc straight away

but that shouldnt happen if you've connect it ok, but yeah just search for a cpu cooling fan that matches the size of that one yeh!
