Sharp TV 2006 Model #32sc260 ***remote will not work***

Direct TV remote is not compatible with this, they think my Sensor in my Sharp TV is gone, thats why the remote will not work. I tried the Sharp remote to just turn my TV on/off (with new batteries) and nope, nothing happens.....do you thinkt he sensor is gone and/or what can i do to fix this???

Hi, camunki, here's the service manual of your TV. The most natural and sure way to check the IR sensor of the TV is to check if there are any pulses on pin 31 [R/C] of the main chip IC2001 (see page 16), when pressing some button on the R/C. The sensor receives and amplifies the pulses from the remote control. If there are any pulses on this pin, the sensor works. This can be verified by a scope.

thanks for the reply....I know the *sensor* is gone, usually when i put my tv on the lil' sensor will light up red or green can't remember which color.......to show tv is *on*............sensor tiny button does not light up, for now i guess i will just have to deal with *ol' school days* of getting up to fix the volume control and to put the tv on/off..........thanks for the feedback!!

That's why I've never forgot the old school days, all i've got at school always helps me. ;)By the way, doesn't the channel select buttons act like on?:ange:
