Recommended GPU for me?

Hello forums.

I am willing to upgrade my computer with a GPU capable of running Borderlands 2 well (low-med settings is fine as long there's no FPS lag).
My specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 @ 1.8 GHz
2GB Ram
Integrated Nvidia 7100 / 630i nforce
Windows Vista
250 Watts
Model: A6403W

I have researched many graphics card and the ones I found to be compatible with my system are Radeon HD 6450 and GT 630.

Between the two, which one would be better for Borderlands 2 and will not bottleneck my system?
I am not interested in playing extremely intensive games such as Battlefield 4, Titanfall, etc, so I will not pay that much on GPU but just want a noticeable upgrade over my integrated card.

Well I will only be playing older games to be honest, Borderlands 2, combat arms ,minecraft.

So if I get the 6670 will I be able to play Borderlands 2 smoothly, I don't play on high or med, only low.

Go with a GT 630. It should run games well enough for them to be playable. The specs on the GT 630 blow the Radeon HD 6450 out of the water. You might struggle a little bit with BL2, you might not. I've not tampered with it so I can't say how resource hungry it is.

The GT 630 will be your best bet between those two particular cards. You might look at getting a bigger PSU if you have problems running your new card, but I wouldn't worry about it for now.

here is why a gt630 is bollocks

Higher effective memory clock speed 4,000 MHz vs 3,200 MHz 25% higher effective memory clock speed
Slightly better floating-point performance768 GFLOPS vs 311 GFLOPS Around 2.5x better floating-point performance
More shading units 480 vs 96 384 more shading units
Higher memory clock spee 1,000 MHz vs 800 MHz 25% higher memory clock speed
Slightly more render output processors 8 vs 4 Twice as many render output processors

@matt20020 Take a chill pill. They're asking, between the GT 630, and the Radeon HD 6450, which is better. They're not asking for better card, CPU, and PSU recommendations. If that were the case I could recommend parts all day long that would be WAY more than they needed. As such, between those two cards, the GT 630 is the power house choice. That's all there is to it.

yeh but why recommend a gt630 to someone when you can get a better card for near enough the same price!, also yes you could recommend better graphics all day long but would they be worth it with the cpu they're running on?.

I could also ask you the same. Why are you pushing a more powerful card if the CPU would likely not be able to handle it? Seems somewhat counter-productive.

I'm not giving bad advice, I'm giving advice based on the asker's query. I'm not overselling other parts which the poster clearly does not need. Please don't try to paint other users, like myself, in a negative light just to gain favor. Advice is best administered in an unbiased and neutral environment, not a competitive one.

fair play but the gt630 is not a gaming card, the 6670 is what i recommend, the gt630 is a better card out of the two the guy has mentioned, and i can spell just when i type fast it makes it harder and cant be bothered checking. The 6670 may bottleneck a bit but im advising not just agreeing!, if he purchases this card with a better power supply it will probably at least play games unlike the gt630, also it will give him room for improvement if he wishes to upgrade his cpu in the future. I made a similar mistake purchasing a gt610 and theres really not much difference between them cards and on board graphics really is there!

Between those two, I'd say a GT 630, it can be run by a 250W PSU.
There should be no bottlenecking unless you are playing ridiculously intensive games such as Battlefield 4,COD Ghosts, etc.
If you are playing Borderlands 2 then it should be fine as long as you have low settings.
Borderlands 2 can be configured easily to get higher FPS so there shouldn't be major problems
This site states the comparisons of the two:

Id just try it and see what its like if it does what you want it to do then happy days, if it doesnt then maybe swap it for something else!, or maybe put a new thread up asking if a gt630 will play borderlands 2 in low settings, see what others say aswell, just if it doesnt do what you want it to do theres 40 or 50 pounds lost
