So this is the specs of my new build-
A10-5800K @ 3.8ghz
Radeon R7 260x 2gb GDDR5
8GB (2x4gb) DDR3 2133
Running Windoze 8.1
I was having issues with my A10 playing BF4 at a suitable setting to my liking so after asking on here it was recommended that I buy a Radeon R7 260x, so I went ahead and did it, installed it, got it setup and it runs very nicely. However, there is still some kind of 'hiccup' somewhere and I cannot put my finger on what it may be.
I updated my AMD drivers and MSI drivers and just about every driver I could figure out to upgrade I went ahead and did it. Now that I installed the R7 260x I am very satisfied with the quality of graphics and gameplay that I am getting on BF4, however, the 3dMark test scores hinted to me that there is still room left for improvement. Something is just not right.
When running "Firestrike" test on 3dMark I am getting a score around 3500 which ranks around a gaming laptop. I was expecting to 'at least' get in the neighborhood of 4000-5000 on this test with my setup. I feel as though there is some setting somewhere that I am overlooking. Maybe it is a setting in the BIOS? A slight tweak to the settings on the RAM or CPU? I am not sure. I have tried to figure it out to no avail. I am hoping maybe someone here can hint around at some things I may be able to try to get that score up where I want it. I do not think running in the 4000 range for that test is too much to ask for this system, as I have seen comparison setups on 3dMark running in this range with my hardware.
So any ideas? I am not real sure what to post here as far as my driver settings, but if that info is needed just give me some ballpark idea of what I need to post and where to find it and I will supply that info.
Thanks in advance for the help, I really appreciate these forums they have proven to be very helpful.
Cheers
