im thinking of changing my motherboard from a h87 to a z87. im not sure whether it'll be the same brand or different brand.

my windows 8 pro is an upgrade i got from a windows 7 FPP.

when i change my motherboard can i still reactivate windows on the new motherboard?
also... do i need to disable license on the old motherboard first before selling it?

Ideally, with a new motherboard, you should do a clean install.
But since you have an upgrade from Win7....you should probably install the new hardware, install 7, then do the upgrade again to 8.

Or, just try it. Install the new motherboard. See what happens. It might work. But it might not.

i haven't buy the new board yet.

im going to buy the new motherboard after selling the one im using atm.

now if the windows 8 is tied to this motherboard and i can't reactivate on the new one, then i'm not going to buy a new one since i dont want to buy a new windows... :)
