Straight up between the two, the 7870 is the more powerful, I went through this dilemma quite awhile back, and ended up going 7870, glad I did, then kicked up to a 660TI a few months later (the joys of them constantly coming out w/ new cards, followed w/ a 760, then a 280X and currently a pair of 780s (SLI)

Ok, so will it run most games I want at ultra/high settings with very little/no lag and I can edit videos with no problem?

7870 will do do well for you, would only be looking for high overall, will do some to ultra...a lot will depend on the rest of your rig and your monitor(s)

The rest of my rig is listed above, and have not selected a monitor yet.

It's ok, thanks for your help. I cannot find this gpu online for sale anywhere for USA, so if you can help me find it from a trustworthy site, I would be grateful.

Newegg.com, but I would highly recommend the GTX 700 series from Nvidia, generally I trust EVGA to be the best. Normally I don't have brand preference, but only when it comes to GPU's. But for a more accurate recommendation whats the budget for your GPU choices?

I am looking for a gpu around $200-$230. Nothing more than that.

If that's the case, check out this guy. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
It's one of my personal favorites, the advantage is this card uses a new architecture for the GPU, basically splitting the workload between multiple cores like a CPU would, without having to run a dual GPU card. In all cases it usually outperforms all other mid range cards from previous generations by about 20 to 30 FPS while having lower power draw and slightly lower temps. Plus if you really want an asus, they have a model of this card too, just a small difference between the EVGA and theirs with the clock speeds.

I don't really care what brand it is, just the quality. Can this card accomplish what I want from a gpu which is listed above?

Might check them out, the 660 and 7870 you were looking at both outperform the 750TI in most every review
