I just installed water cooling on my PC and used the AMD catalyst control centre to test the speed limits. It got to 4.5GHz then crashed. Then came up the blue screen of death. When my computer eventually turned on it was on W7 Basic and it won't let me change it. I've tried uninstalling and updationg all my drives, re running the windows experience index, i've even tried switching around some of the plugs on my motherboard... and still nothing!!!!!!!!

What do you mean "tried switching some of the plugs on my motherboard"? Does everything look normal when you go into device manager, no unknown devices, and all devices are running proprietary (not Microsoft or other universal) drivers?

Put everything on stock clock speeds for now while troubleshooting. Are you still getting blue screens?

I've never been able to figure out the Windows 7 Basic colors thing. It happens on both of my computers intermittently when I exit certain games, rarely on the new one but it still happens. I wouldn't worry about that part too much as long as everything else is functioning normally.

What is your Windows Experience score?
