I can't seem to find any definitive benchmarks with this card at 2560x1080 resolution. I would only be doing a single monitor setup but I'm interested in the Asus MX299Q (21:9 2560x1080) How well will this card do at this resolution?

I'd prefer ultra settings. I usually put AA on nothing higher than 2x and if anything looks bad or frames aren't high enough, I drop shadows and turn off AA altogether.

Now, if it can't scale well and has just "okay" benchmarks, I would otherwise consider the 1920x1080 Asus MX279H. But, the MX does NOT have DisplayPort, which I've read has the highest throughput of all ports. It only has VGA and HDMI, I believe.

So, in respects to the limited ports on the MX mnitor, a side note: What exactly are all of the pros and cons between using DVI, Dual DVI, DisplayPort or HDMI as video input from your card? And, should I ever bother with crossover connetions such as DVI-HDMI, DisplayPort to Dual DVI etc etc? How much of a downgrade would I get between each connection?

I just want solid frames and the least amount of screen tearing and such. I would perfer to get an IPS because I do a lot of photoshop work and color correction for video editing, but I'm also an avid gamer. So, if anyone also has any other suggestions for (possibly?) a better monitor option (regardless of price, although I'd like to stay within the 27" - 29" range), then please, dont hesitate to say so.

Although those LED's seems tempting but they have very slow response time and while gaming you will definitely notice that (because i seriously do that), sometime response time is what told by manufacturers and some time it is wrong so you can't say that the response time written in the site may be right or wrong. But if you agree to drop your resolution to 1920x1080 you get this monitor which is currently best for gaming and since i don't do much photoshop but i do a little you won't notice much difference: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236302
