I just bought a new monitor and in the store (bestbuy) the screen was full but on mine at home I have about an inch wide black border around my desktop (windows 8) I have the exact same computer hooked up to the monitor as they do. How come mine has that space around the sides?

No my graphics card is inside the CPU because I have the A-10 6700 APU and it has a 8670 HD built inside of it. Not sure how all that works I just know that I have the exact same computer as the one setup at the store an the same monitor but I can't figure out how to get the border to go away like they did.

What is the overscan thing?

Well I'm in the middle of resetting my PC so once all that is done. I'll try your (rotorheadman) suggestion an see if that works. Very disappointing to pay $300 for a monitor of this size (27") an not have the full 27" working the way it was shown in the store. So, I hope I can fix this issue.

Overscan is in the catalyst control center.... go into device manager make sure computer is recognizing an "ati Radeon" display adapter install catalyst control center from amd driver website and increase the over scan to it will fill out the display

Thanks! I downloaded the Catalyst Control center from the AMD Driver website an now it looks so much better. I only have one problem left.

When I set it to 0% some text on the screen is blurry. It's not terrible but its what I want. Also at 0% a very small portion of the screen is over the edge of the visible area of the monitor. Like maybe not even a centimeter or two. But like windows 8 on the startup part of the desktop. You know the little minimize button on the bottom right of the screen when you are looking at the apps. That is partially off the screen.

My only fix for this is setting it just above 0% to get everything perfect but when I do that than that is when the blurry text takes effect. So its either blurry text here an there or a portion of the screen partially not visible. I don't see an inbetween.
