Using a wifi adapter on my old comp

I have a Windows XP 2002 home edition and I just got a Belkin wifi adapter. The adapter work because it says I am connected, but I am receiving not internet. Can I get some help?

go to where your connections are in the bottom right corner, right click and go to properties, go to security and make sure you have the correct wireless security selected and password (case sensitive), and make sure you have the drivers installed for the wifi device.
