Hi Everyone,

First time here and hoping you can help me out.

Just purchased a new tower but getting no love with my existing monitor. Have tried both VGA and DVI cables and still getting no signal. PC appear to be powering up correctly, just getting nothing through to the monitor. It seems to be recognising ther is some connection, as says No Cable Connected when I unplug the monitor but back to No Signal when it goes back in.

The above link is a picture of my board where the VGA/DVI ports go to the board (in blue).

Tower model is HP Pavillion Series p6-2415a.

Is there any info I need to provide to help you lovely people help me?

Cheers,
hJ.

Its a classic example of the video lead from the monitor plugged into the wrong output.

The Motherboard has on board video.
The monitor should be connected to those video out put ports to display and image.
If you fitted a Pci-e based card, Or one is also fitted then the monitor cable must be attached to the ports of that card.

You need to take a look at the back of the case to verify this.

Integrated Graphics

*Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed. Meaning plug the monitor cable to the graphics card not the on board ports if the case.

You should get a picture on the monitor after that John.
