Hello,

First off here are my specs :
- AMD A8 3870k APU
- ECS A55F-M3
- 2 x 2GB DDR3 ( tested working )
- Some generic no name psu ( tested working )

So yesterday i was playing some rather GPU intensive game and my PC suddenly shutdown, and now it wont start. Since i run Hwmonitor logs i stuck my HDD in my other desktop to check the logs and last temp was capped at 69 on CPU and 72 on GPU so it wasn't overheating.

After that i went on and dissasembled it and tried starting with only the MOBO, PSU, CPU and RAM, i noticed fans started spinning for a split second and stopped no beeps from the mobo.

I then tested with the PSU from my other desktop and got same results, so its not the PSU, also tested the ram they are working, so that leaves the MOBO and CPU.

When i remove the 4 pin CPU power connector the fans start spinning, the HDD also gets power, but obviously no boot since no power to the CPU. I then went and removed the CPU and inserted back the 4 pin connector just to test that out and same issue fans spin for a split sec and then stop.

So my question is how do i go about finding out if the MOBO or the CPU is faulty because i dont have spare MOBO with the FM1 socket..

a geek squad or even a mom & pop shop would be able to test the components for you. failing that i would look for damage to the socket and especially underneath the mobo as something could have grounded out to the frame.
