Hi guys
i was given the VTX3d HD6790 from my neighbour and im not sure if my existing power supply ( ocz stealthstream 500w psu ) will power it .... the card itself is a first gen HD6790 which has a 150tdp and requires 2 x 6pin pci-e power connectors
allthough 500w is ample power for this card and the 2 x 18A +12v rails are ok aswell the single 6pin pci-e connector means i will have to use a "molex(x2) to 6pin " adapter which came with the card
however would my power supply power this card safely ... ive allready checked the card on my spare pc which uses a C.I.T 650w psu ,E5700,4gb ddr2 ram and 2 x raptors ... and it worked perfectly fine even with the molex to 6pin adapter ....
so would my ocz stealthstream 500w psu be ok ...

many thanks guys

i need to use the molex to 6pin,however am i ok with my current OCZ stealthstream 500w psu .... this has the following specs
2 x +12v rails with 18A on each rail ( 481.5w) ...30A on 3.3v and +5v ..... -12v(0.5A) and 5vsb(2.5A ) ... in regards to connectors theres just one 6pin pci-e connector thus why i need to use a molex(x2) to 6pin pci-e adapter ......
personally i think these specs are ok but what about you ?
