so im looking to build my own custom PC and i'll be using a 780ti as my GPU
if im looking to play more graphically demanding games such as battlefield 4 and titanfall, should i get the ASUS FX8350 or an intel one?
since im sure overclocking would be needed given that its a 780ti already

Both are fine, though what would you prefer, a more expensive processor (i5 4670k at $240) that will draw less power, or the cheaper AMD alternative (FX 8320 at $160) that will draw more power? The FX 8320 possibly costing some more per month on electricity, especially when both are overclocked. Both would keep up with the 780Ti though, in case power draw isn't a concern.

I have this CPU, not OC'd yet and a GTX780 and currently have Titanfall maxed out on every setting @ 1080p with V-Sync on and get a constant 60fps with about 65% gpu usage peaking to about 85% occasionally. The CPU seems to not be working that hard either so I'm very happy.

Titanfall is not very demanding. Any modern cpu can run it with a decent video card, and you have one of the best.

Battlefield 4 really benefits from the FX83xx cpus due to the cores, but also runs fantastic on an i5/i7. It really comes down to how much do you want to spend.

This. Though if you aren't going to overclock, go with the regular i5-4670. Save you a few bucks and still runs just fine. My i5-4670k performance increase from 3.4GHz to 4.2GHz on air cooling was pretty good, but I've seen much better gains from the FX8300 guys. It's all in whether you want to overclock, and the power bill. :p
