My rig is turning 5 years old this year and it's starting to show it's age. Currently my machine has a triple channel kit of Gskill memory. which I've linked here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231272

I would like to upgrade to about 12 gigs but am having trouble finding a triple channel memory kit that matches these specs.

The closest I've found is something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226186

My question is this: Should i try to add the mushkin sticks to my current setup ( i have the 6 slots total) and have two sets of triple channel memory on my machine or should i replace the existing gskill memory with the mushkin memory.

I'm fairly decent at building computers but have never really tried adding another triple channel kit to the computer so far down the road of it being built. Whats the downside/upside to either?
