Till yesterday, I was on Windows 8.1 in my laptop.. In win 8, total graphics memory = 1024 MB, Dedicated Video Memory = 512 MB (Which is my original hardware - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 512 MB card)..
But after upgrading to windows 8.1, the total graphics memory is 256 MB and Dedicated video memory = 0 MB??

it was showing my original hardware card as the display adapter in win 8.. but in win 8.1 it was showing as Microsoft Basic display adapter.. how can I enable my original hardware?

I would install the latest Catalyst drivers from AMD's website. If you already did that in Windows 8 I would uninstall them and reinstall them as 8.1 doesn't always play nice with 8's version of the same driver...go figure.

But I can't install Catalyst drivers... It says the required component is not found.. (Coz it shows only basic microsoft adapter and so the catalyst can't detect the ATI hardware?
