I've recently started my first build, for whatever reason I'm not getting any video to my current monitor.
My motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics, so I'm thinking I need a better graphics card.
All 4 CPU phase lights turn on as well

I don't get any mobo speaker beeps either..
My ram has been tested, dusted, and my CPU has also been tested.

My motherboard:
MSI 970A-G46

My CPU:
AMD FX-8150

My GPU:
Nvidia GT 610

My RAM:
G.SKILL RipJaws DDR3-1600
2Gx2

My Power Supply:
Rosewill 750W 80+ Gold

from where you are double check to make sure all power cables are plugged ALL the way in both the 20+4 pin and the 4-pin cable. Make sure ram is all the way in. The reason I say that is because since you mentioned this is your first build you might be surprised what tiny little problems can cause a computer not to post. If still nothing then start testing the graphics card.
