connectivity problem with laptop and another screen

I have connected my laptop to my main screen, all was fine but resolution was no great, trying to change that i pressed CRT + P trying to solve the problem, but now every time i connect the second screen both go black, what can i do? any ideas?

i have managed to solve the problem reverting the laptop to an earlier point, but i still have the original problem: i can't change the resolution on my secondary screen, every time i change the resolution it goes totally black (in saving mode).
