EDIT: So I've seen what the issue is. The download link they advertise everywhere is for 365 and 2013. If I reinstalled 2010 would it fix the previewer problem I'm having and the non-responsiveness to the middle mouse click button. How many reinstalls am I allowed?

I'm not sure what you mean by "associated with your account" since Office 2010 does not link to your Microsoft Account in any way. This feature was only introduced with Office 2013.


EDIT:
No limit on the number of re-installs so long as they are on the same device. You might have to call MS Activation hotline to complete the activation (it's automated) but it will go through.

Which would be where I was going wrong then. I was going to the site MS advertises everywhere for redownloads (http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/?fromAR=1) and then I finally thought to change what I was asking for and specify Office 2010 and found the site I needed.

Do you know how to fix the previewer issue affecting MS Office and Explorer (although Explorer says this file can't be previewed)?

Not sure what the previewer issue is. There aren't many things a re-install won't fix though.

If you still have issues after the re-install give me some more detail on what the issue is and I might be able to help.

It's the preview pane you get in explorer and Office applications to peak into your documents
