I recently bought a Lenovo G510 laptop and installed windows 7 64 bit onto it. After the install, I had to install all of the drivers, and everything was working fine.

Today I opened my laptop after having closed it ten minutes earlier, only to find that it wouldn't wake up from sleep mode. After trying everything I could think of, I did a hard restart and chose the 'start windows normally' option. However, when Windows started back up, it no longer recognized any internet sources, wired or wireless.

Windows troubleshooter says I need to 'turn on wireless capability'. I don't see a wireless hardware switch anywhere on the laptop. fn+f5 does nothing. No other keys look like they control internet. The device manager says all of the network devices are working normally. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but that didn't do anything either. The Windows Mobility Center says that the wireless is turned off, but the 'turn wireless on' button is greyed out and is not able to be clicked.

I'm all out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions?

My sony vaio does not have a hardware wireless switch either.
It gets started with an app.
See if one of your installed programs will start the wireless.
If you don't see one, perhaps it can be downloaded from Lenovo.
If you want it always started, put that program in your windows startup task folder.

Hii
I am also facing the same issue after I turned on the flight mode on in win 8.1 and tried to switch on Wifi. Both wifi as well as LAN stopped working. Reinstalling the OS also didnt help. Waiting for service center's feedback.
