How To Bridge Two On-Q Ceiling Access Points

Hello,
I am trying to understand how to bridge two On-q in ceiling access points. The issue I am having is that I have both set to AP, but in the configurations for them, I do not see any section that contains the bridge setup? Both of these AP's go back into my Linksys router. I have set the SSID to the same on both, but for some reason if I go from one side of the house to the other, my Ipad will not join the next AP?

A AP is a bridge by definition. It should use the same ip range from your router. The largest issue is that the security between AP needs to be renegotiated when you move. The encryption keys are generated using the mac addresses of the AP and if you change they must be regenerated. Generally it will cause a short outage but it will connect to the new AP.

Likely the problem is the device is still trying to stay connected to the first AP. I can't say how you change that on a ipad but on a PC you can change the roaming aggressiveness in the settings for the nic. Problem is if you set it to aggressive it will jump back and forth causing lots of small outages.

If you can just turn off the nic and turn it back on and it connects...

If you can just turn off the nic and turn it back on and it connects then it is likely just still trying to connect to the original AP. This is a very tricky thing to get to work properly. Commercial systems normally load special device drivers so a special hardware device can coordinate all the movement of PC from AP to AP.
