can i simply plug this wifi chip in and recive wifi? i just cant run an ethernet cable from my router.

just curious but if i plug it in a pci express slot (x16) will my enternet be faster? thx

This card will have no effect on the speed of your ethernet. Read the manual that comes with the card on installing it. As long as you have a wireless router you should be able to connect to it with this adapter.

After you plug the adapter in the pci slot, secure it, Reboot your computer. Windows should recognize that you have new hardware installed. Go to the instruction manual and see what you need to do. If your computer doesn't recognize it you can go to device manager and see if it shows it there.
