Stuttering/lag spikes in all games

in pretty much all games i get small little stutters or lag spikes i guess, like the game freezes for half a second.
my specs are:
gtx780

i7 2600k

gigabyte z77xup7 motherboard

16 gb ram

1 tb hard drive

100 gb ssd

also when playing bf3 my fps in anywhere from 20 to 130 witch is very weird. any help ?

Some of your parts could be overheating - Make sure they are not.
Take out then stick in RAM sticks.
Try defragmenting your hard-drive (this does not apply to your SSD)
Move your game files to your SSD -This might improve performance
Scan for viruses.
Make sure you have installed all correct drivers and they are updated - Is this a new pc?
You could use the Nvidia software to optimize your game setting.
What resolution is your monitor/do you have multiple monitors?
