So i just hooked up my xbox 360 to my new 1080p monitor, THIS one, except i got in store at Best Buy instead of getting it shipped, just FYI. Anyways, i have the xbox connected via HDMI, no adapters or extra connections used. I have my pc connected via DVI, so i just switch sources when i want to use my xbox or pc. My problem is that when i go to play a game, GTA V in my case, and i start playing it, it looks like the resolution is set way low. Everything is pixelated and blurry as if the resolution is set to something ridiculously low, even though i made sure the system settings for display is set to 1080p. The xbox home dashboard looks great and truly HD, but when i start a game, the game looks so bad. I dont know why this is or what to do. Google offers little help, so i come begging for help here. Please help! Thanks.

EDIT: For note, this problem was not evident before, when i had my xbox connected to my HDTV via the standard xbox 360 A/V cable. I never had this problem before, never have i seen any games on my xbox look so horribly pixelated or jagged. Also for note, i have only used the standard xbox A/V cables for my xbox in the past, today is the first time i have used an HDMI cable to hook up my xbox 360.

Solution
Only thing I can see would be if the screen is doing some kind of overscan thus stretching the image even further.

Plug the computer into the HDMI port and see how it looks?

Please watch the bumping because some mods would not take kindly to too many of them.

It is because the 360 does not output 1080p for the actual game, GTA V or Forza or Halo. It simply isn't powerful enough to render the game at that resolution. So it goes to 1080i/720p. They do this so it can guarentee 30/60 fps at all times, and even then sometimes it fails.

One thing to know would be the fact that X-box 360 actually runs most games at 720p(1280 x 720) and just upscales them to 1080p.

Please also ensure the games are not running off the screen from over/under scan issues as this can make it look less sharp as well.

I know the games do not render at 1080p and sometimes not even at 720p, but it looks particularly horrible now that i hooked it up to my new monitor. I know the games have shotty graphics, i definitely know that, but i have never seen my xbox show the game graphics so terribly. Seriously, it honestly looks like i started a game on my pc, set the graphics to lowest settings, turned anti aliasing off and set the resolution to the lowest setting, SERIOUSLY, not even exaggerating. I can barely read words on signs or subtitles in GTA 5 now and it never looked this overall horrid. Something is seriously not right.
