Motherboard Display Ports Not Working?

The only cable I can use for my monitor is a D-sub cable, which has a port on my motherboard (MSI Z87-G45) but not my graphics card (EVGA 780). After some research, it seems like the motherboard can only use these ports with my CPU's (i7 4770k) integrated graphics enabled. My question is, if I enable this in the bios, will it use those graphics for everything? Or will it just use integrated for my monitor, and then the 780 for my games?

It will use the IGPU for everything. You can not run two different GPUs at the same time.
It causes a lot of problems. Having 2 different video drivers is bad too.
You can only use 1 GPU and driver at a time!
Happy Computing! :)
