Community,

I accidentally broke off a capacitor on a Gigabyte motherboard. I am prepared to order a new capacitor and solder that bad boy back on, but I am having some trouble on what I should buy and where I should buy it. The capacitor is the fancy aluminum type and has "834 sepc 100 16" written on it. What is that? I googled it and it came back with no results. Second question: I have very medium soldering skills (mostly big capacitors on power supplies and crafts), and never have I soldered on a motherboard before or a capacitor so small. Any quick do's and don'ts I need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

I agree, but my question was what is "834 sepc 100 16" what voltage is that and where should I look to buy it (the high quality one you're recommending)? And any do's and don'ts when it comes to soldering on motherboards?

I dont know how its writen. Maybe a picture would help.
But i guess the 16 is voltage
Refer to this: http://wiki.xtronics.com/index.php/Capacitor_Codes
Where to buy them? I guess on a reliable website or local electrician shop. My dad works as a engineers so I just ask him to grab me some if i need xD.
For soldering: make sure u let some1 with experience do it. Depending where it is located, some time it require some real precision. The solder must not be too big as it would interfere with the surrounding. ( I tried to solder my usb connection but actually made it worse...)
Also, u can solder it on the back side of the board. I did that for my gpu pcb.
