why is my computer loosing power?

So I have been having this issue with my desktop where if I try to run software for more than a few minutes it shuts off as if it was just unplugged.
software like; pearson, word etc
or even games like minecraft, warframe, or sims.
internet is ok.

I bought a new power supply and it's not over heating.

Sounds like it could be a faulty HDD, run a dsk check, so when the programs start the HDD may be faulty meaning they may be corrupt, the computer sees this and does an emergency shut down.

Wouldn't that produce an error message? I get the black and white windows did not shut down properly screen when I turn it back on but thats the only evidence that theres an issue. Although very recently It has started running slower..

Hmmm usually you would get a bsod but it can just shut the pc down. Have you downloaded the latest chipset, cpu and gpu drivers?
