Can I remove this plate thing in my Casing?

I'm planning on buying a R( 270X but the plate thing which I think holds the HDD (maybe?) is in the way making it impossible for the card to fit. Is it possible to remove it?

The plate I'm referring to is the one with all those dotted holes.

You cannot remove it as it is needed for holding the HDDs and the DVD drives. The card might slip between them though.

What are the rest of your parts. out of curiosity?

I'm planning for a complete overhaul of my rig. Currently I only have a GT220. Problem is the 270X is around 10.2 inches whereas the free space available in the case is around 8 inches.

DO NOT get a thermaltake PSU. Only go with Antec, XFX, Seasonic, Corsair (not CX, CS, RM).

kabayan (judging from the link), get a new case. once you go branded, you won't go back

a better case is more convenient, better looking, more space, more options.

yup, better upgrade, a 220 is slow, very slow, no offense of course. make sure you have a quality psu though.
don't risk your 270 with a generic psu. i've been using good psu's, more reliable than those cheap ones

@OP what do you think of this 760? This is acceptable to you?

It's $20 cheaper, as strong as a 270x, and it's 6.7" long and 4.7" wide.

I considered a 760 but the price for me here is too high it is about 12400($310) and that is the inno3D version. Whereas the 270X is the twin frozr bf3 edition and goes for 11500 Pesos ($287). Besides I don't plan to play on 1080p but rather on lower res.

Oh and i see that the 760 you posted is smaller. I might try and look for that but from the pricelist of the shop i'm buying from i don't they have it.

What resolution do you plan on playing at? Chances are you could easily get away with a lower end card just fine.

Don't get a thermaltake PSU. Read my previous comment. Also, 500w is plenty.

Yes this is a good unit. It has 2 GPU connectors. That's all you need. A PSU is the most important part of a PC by far. A junk unit can fail and completely fry your entire computer. Happens all the time.
