CPU at 100% while gaming

Hey guys,

I recently built a new gaming PC and have a few questions on an issue I've been having.
Whenever I'm playing Battlefield 3 on Ultra settings, I get around 60-70fps which is fine because I only have a 60hz monitor at the moment anyway.
My concern is that when I'm playing, my CPU usage is at 100% when I check it in the task manager. Is this normal or is it something I should try and avoid?

My specs are:
Intel Core i5 4670K
MSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming Edition OC 2GB
G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
ASRock Z87-PRO4 Motherboard
Deepcool GAMMAXX S40 CPU Cooler

Thanks in advance!

You should be ok as long as you are not experiencing the following

-Whining from the fans, CPU cooler
-Frequent reboots and crashes
-smelling burn plastic

FPS is different from Hhz and you will still feel better response with more frames. Although the naked eye can only really differentiate 25fps. Hz don't really matter until your above 27 inches then you experience bad response from HZ. IE playing on a tv will feel looser and not as responsive than a monitor.

If you want to lower your cpu usage you could always run the game at a lower resolution, but the GFX will not look as sharp. Most pros will turn down most of the settings to get better response and less lag. If you turn off shadows and AA your cpu usage will lower also while still keeping crisp models.

Please dude...don't start with that "human eye can only"... I bet you have never sat behind a monitor that can work on higher than 60Hz and ... most probably have never played a game on higher that 30 FPS to say stuff like that...

You would eventually stop seeing a HUGE difference when it goes over 72-75 FPS but will still be able to tell the difference if it goes up to 120-140.

25FPS...pfff

Indeed :) (I actually tried covering Fraps FPS counter and trying to guess the current FPS and then looking at it). I think I'm at about 82-85 FPS :)
