I recently bought a GTX 780 Ti. I noticed that it requires +42A on the +12V rail. The PSU I'm using has four +12V rails each rated at 40A and I'm not sure if this meets the requirement of 42A. Right now I have 2 separate PCI-E cables connected to the card and it seems to be running fine, significantly faster than my previous card (GTX 670). Crysis 3 is the only game that doesn't seem to be running as expected. Can someone confirm if this PSU is suitable for running the card at its full potential? I'm also planning on upgrading my PSU so I can add another 780 Ti in the future. Any suggestions to what PSU I should get would be welcome. Thanks!

Your current PSU will be totally fine, you dont need a new one. Assuming it has enough PCI-e connectors you can run 2x 780 Ti on that no problem. You dont need a 1300w PSU for SLI 780 Ti's.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm still pretty confused about the 42A on +12V rail requirement. My PSU has four +12V rails at 40A each. Does that mean my PSU meets this requirement? Sorry if I don't make much sense, still pretty new to this.

Thanks for the reply. I agree 1300W is kinda overkill. But I'm a little skeptical about running two 780 Ti on a 750W PSU. From what I hear, 850 is recommended. I also heard that the number of Amps on the +12V rail is a more important factor. My PSU has four +12V rails unlike most others which only have one and that kinda confuses me about whether my PSU is suitable.

850 is recommended as some PSUs can be real junk. That Antec has 160amps on 12v which is more than enough for 2x 780 Ti.

Thanks again. I'll probably stick with my current PSU for a while then.

Hi there, It ran fine. I recently changed my PSU to a Corsair ax860i and noticed no difference in performance. I got the same results on the 'Thief' and 'arkham origins' benchmarks though they're not the most reliable benchmarks to use. From what I've heard, the 42A requirement isn't realistic so if your psu is similar to mine, you'll be fine. Hope that helps.
