Brand new computer, picked it up from the store 2 weeks ago. I installed the operating system manually, windows 8. it crashed so many times the same day, just kept on rebooting, like the power going off and on again. Max I was able to stay on was 30 minutes or 40. I got the BSOD and couldn't fix it. I installed the Windows 7 64 bit ultimate trial but I was never able to even go past setting user account cause it kept on crashing and restarting even worse than before.

Then I got tired of it and I took my computer to the store I bought it from. They made me buy a fresh DVD of Windows 8.1 professional and I also paid them to install the OS and all the drivers for my hardware on it. I got my PC back after a week, when I went to pick it up they said it was in a stable condition. I was trying to tell them that I think it might be the hardware but they didn't listen. Well I came home and connected all the plugs to the computer and started it hoping it wouldn't crash. Within 10 minutes it crashed, and then it became more frequent but still at random times. I have it for 3-4 days now, and one thing I have observed is whenever something is downloading or installing, it will reboot less frequently. When I was downloading a game on UPlay, it was still crashing every hour/hour and a half on a regular basis for 5 hours. I ran the Heaven benchmark and it crashed after the 3rd benchmark.

Things I did/do now to keep it going:
I disabled Fast boot from BIOS and it seemed okay for a hour or two and then it crashed! I get the kernel 41 error, already got about 20-30 of them since the last installment of Windows. Within the last 24 hours it crashed 4 times. What I do is I let something download at a very low bandwich so I can stay on. And it works for about 4-5 hours if lucky. I played Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag at max settings for 3-4 hours without any crash today. Then watched a 2 hour movie and finally it crashed.

My CPU is Intel i5 4670k, NVIDIA Geforce 770 GTX, 8 gb memory DDR3, Asus motherboard, 500 GB HDD.

Please help, I don't know how long I can go with this. I have searched through the net and there are plenty of threads that have the same problem as me. But they did not seem to help much. I don't know much about computers so I need help from those who do.

I have a question about the PSU though, can the power cable that connects the PSU to the electricity be a reason for this? I might have switched my old PSU cable with my new one accidentally, and my old computer burned when I started it. So could changing just the cable solve this issue?

Update: I can sometimes hear that "ttttttttttttttttt" noise coming from inside the PC. I have 3 fans running, with one Zalman liquid cooling fan on the CPU.
