Fixing a short circuited motherboard

I had some trouble with a brand new board. It was being short circuited either by the PSU or the Case.

As my efforts to diagnose the problem involved powering on the board despite the as yet undiagnosed short about 10 times following various diagnostic steps, this has resulted in the board refusing to give out beep codes anymore when nothing but the cpu and power are connected outside the case.

As i will not be able to rma the board, I was wondering what would be required to fix the motherboard without help from the service centre. I'm willing to take a considerable amount of effort to do this.

the problem is that i am currently abroad, and the cost of sending the board back is greater than the cost of the board itself.

i would like to fix the board myself, and would like some guidance on how this is done.

i would need to diagnose the specific component that has failed and look into soldering/replacing it.

There is no Intl warranty on asrock boards purchased from newegg. And since the cost of Intl shipping would be ~$150 for a $75 board, I would not be able to use the warranty.

I acknowledge that it will be difficult and was not expecting anything else.
