Just built a new computer very recently and occasionally, the screen flickers. Although it isn't major, it definitely worries me being a first time computer builder. Is there any way to solve this? Hope you guys can help.
Computer Parts:
CPU - AMD FX6300 (6 core 3.5GHz)
GPU - Gigabyte Radeon R9 270x OC WindForce
Motherboard - Gigabyte Something B3
PSU - Corsair CX600
SSD - Fujitsu 128GB
HDD - Western Digital Blue 2TB
It's been working fine otherwise.

Screen flickering is usually caused by the monitor refresh and the GPU. Try using Vsync in games. I am assuming this is happening because system is providing more FPS than your monitor; therefore, Vsync option in games should balance that. Does this only happen while you are playing games?

It's either the monitor, the GPU or the PSU. Does it happen a lot or at all during gaming?

Run a stress test on the GPU Unigine Heaven would work.

Double check all cable connections to GPU and monitor.

It does not seem to happen at all during games. Just randomly every 2-3 minutes. Any ideas?

Sometimes it could be related to new drivers by Microsoft; Have you tried killing ipoint.exe in Process Manager?

Or;

Make sure all your cables are connected properly and plug them in and out to ensure their connection; monitors cable and GPU's; If they were all properly connected, remove GPU and plug it back in. Try changing GPU slot.

Dont use BETA drivers. What GPU do you have? Remove GPU drivers completely and install current new non-BETA drivers and reply here

Do you use any third party programs like MSI afterburner to OC or change some profiles?
It seems like the gpu is not providing the power needed to keep it stable at the desktop i.e the core clock is flickering.
I had that when I made a mistake of not removing previous settings on my MSI Afterburner. A clean reinstallation fixed this.

I've done all of the above and I have only stock drivers that came with my parts. I have a Gigabyte Radeon R9 270x OC WindForce.

I've had this same problem, built a new pc in feb everything was running fine for a couple months then I started getting this jump/flicker. Tried everything even rma the gpu and got a new one. My flicker could happen anytime even while idle or in game. Did you ever get it sorted because I really don't know what to d.

Sorry for the late reply and for me it sort of has
I upgraded to Windows 8 and after that I seemed to have no problems. What OS are you running?
