Hello!
So, i decided yesterday to oc my cpu and i managed to get to 4.5Ghz and make it stable. (15 min in prime 95 gives me a max temp. of #1 67°C, #2 74°C, #3 73°C, #4 70°C, but they were 65, 72, 71, 68 average, and it is at 1.144v in full load). My question is: would it be safe to push to 4.6Ghz?
I've heard people say on youtube that going over 1.2v is nothing they would do since ivy bridges run hot but still some guy from asus says 1.35 volt is the max safe voltage. (And btw my second core didn't run that hot in the last test.. my room is hotter today, that might be why)

The extra juice those 100Mhz would give you (next to nothing) are not worth it IMO. If the rig is running 4,5Ghz stable now, leave it at that.

Those temps are ok, I presume that your cpu is aircooled at the moment?

15 minutes of Prime95 is no test. Run LinX all night, if you want to truly test your system. Overclocking is fine, but it WILL shorten the life of your processor.

Yes, I guess you're right. It is aircooled, yes.
@mgilbert: longest test i've done so far is 35 minutes XD, but the results are pretty much the same as these.

Try a run of Intel burn test, if that is stable then you are fine IMO. I wouldnt push your temps any higher, 4.5 on ivy is nice.
