Why can't I connect my computer to my flat panel LG TV ?

Why can't I connect my computer to my flat panel LG TV ? I have tried both AVG and HDMI, but my TV just say "no signal detected" error ? It can connect through AVG on my old windows 2000 computer, but my new Windows 7 computer, it doesn't seem to work, what ever I do, I just can't get it to work ? help pls !

No, I have tried to change the input selection (of course, as I said, it workes with my old computer) and I have the windows 7 computer now connected to an ordinary monitor with DVI connection now and it works. It just wont connect to the TV. Is there any settings how to put settings so windows 7 l allows multiple monitors?
