I have an HP Compaq 6005 Pro Microtower (link to HP's site) with a bad PSU. It has strange connectors that I'm not familiar with. So far, I haven't been able to find a generic replacement.

The PSU is HP Part # 503378-001 (spare part # 508154-001).

Does anyone know where I could find a generic replacement for this, or is this just random proprietary foobarism?

I found the info from other forum, the PSU and the PC maybe not the standard ATX or BTX format, from one picture and the info from the forum: " HP has decided to use propriety power suppies that power the motherboard, and subsequently the motherboad powers the devices. Because the regular ATX PSU has either 20pins or 24pins to power the MB and other 4pins or 8pins power the cpu. If you find the 20pins or 24pins on your MB you can buy the regular atx PSU like vic40 said cx430 to try, otherwise buy the same used one from ebay or amazon.

Add: I found the MB from ebay, it does not has the 24pins for the MB, so you only can buy the used same PSU. The regular PSU...

If it's this one,
http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c01864939-3%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken
then it looks fairly standard atx to me and would a corsair cx 430watt psu be enough or a be quiet system power 300watt.

Those connectors look like a 4pin cpu/a 6pin pcie and a floppy drive power connector or something.Strange thing is that i don't see a 20 (24) pin power cable.

What are the measurements of the psu, from the fan side=width/hight/depth.If possibel in inches and centimeters.

I should have looked at the link from matt20020 first, the first one in there seems to be what you have in that pc.
