My pc has an i5 core cpu with integrated graphics. As it sits now I can run the DayZ standalone well on low settings. Woul a GeForce GTX 750 be a good enough upgrade to run it on at least medium settings?

More about : gtx 750 good upgrade

GTX 750 will be a huge performance boost compared to your integrated graphics.

I'm not entirely sure. It's a fairly new hp Inspiron if that helps. I'll check when I get home and let you know

I also didn't mean to select your answer as the best answer. I'm using my phone and the "select as best" button looked like a "view answer" button

750 would be great. The best as a package.

How well would I be able to run DayZ with it?

You would get an average of 27 fps when settings are set to ultra and the resolution is 1920x1080.

I have an i5 CPU, not an i7. I wish I had an i7 though

You don't mention which i5 you have but most of the i5 and all the new ones have 4 cores and 4 threads which is good for gaming. The i7 has 4 cores and 8 threads, the extra 4 threads, in general, do not help much in gaming.

For example, the i5-760 has 4 cores and 4 threads, i5-670 has 2 cores and 4 threads. Even the i5-670 is not bad, at 3.46 GHz and 4 MB of Smart Cache is a pretty good processor.

You have been held back by the lack of a video card, not your CPU.

The Gtx 750 uses a very low amount of power, so it's likely that it will work and have a decent jump in performance, might also look into getting the ti.

What is the difference in the regular and the ti?

The 750TI is about 25% faster (and about 25% more expensive). Both cards are quite good but get the TI if you can allow it.
Check the PSU, it must be at least 400w.
If your current PC is small form factor you may need a low profile video card.

Actually you can run a 750 Ti on a half decent 300w psu, it only draws 60w.

The TI versions are more games oriented cards.
Don't worry, you'll be able to play that game at ultra settings even with that CPU.

So the TI would be a lot better for what I'm looking for? Isn't it only like $10 more?
