I've been using a razer Deathadder for about three years now, and it has served me well, but I recently spilled some pomegranate juice on it and the side buttons are dead. I'm now looking for a new mouse, and I'm hoping the good people of tom's hardware can give me some advice. My only requirements are that it be high quality, and have at least two thumb buttons, because I use them for Starcraft II. It would also be nice if the mouse stored my dpi and side button settings in it, because razer synapse is really annoying, but that isn't a requirement. Thanks in advance.

I have been using a R.A.T. 9 which I love and recommend, if a bit pricey. There is a corded version (R.A.T. 7), although the two-battery scheme on the 9 works very well, taking about 10s to swap them. Some people don't like the way it looks, I personally find it awesome.

My house cleaner used to store it every time she came by, until I told her that it was a mouse.

I like big. I have really long fingers. :)

Edit: Although I'd probably go with the 500 instead if I were to get a Logitech; I'd never use all of those buttons.

The RAT 7 looks really badass, but a lot of the reviews say that the tracking stopped working after little use. Do you know what kind of warranty it has and how good the customer service is?

My vote goes to the SteelSeries Rival. Been using mine for a few weeks now and the thing is awesome. Built solid, comfortable, and performs extremely well compared to the Deathadder/ASUS Rog mice I've had in the past.

I'm glad you arrived at a choice.

For future reference, my RAT has never had any kind of tracking or connecting issue of any sort, despite heavy usage and a few accidents involving gravity and soft drinks. I did have to disassemble it once for cleaning, as it dirt gets everywhere with this mouse. Also, replacement batteries are hard to come by if you are out of the US.
